It started out with the threat of widespread opposition, and ended up with everyone agreeing. Concessions demanded by the commuynity, environmentalists and labor are being met by the developers of a major hotel and entertainment center around Staples Center. This billion- dollar project is seen as vital to the revitalization of downtown Los Angeles.
