After a very public difference of opinions, the departure of Lord Rogers as London Mayor Boris Johnson's architectural adviser, the mayor is trying to define his vision for the city's design future. But some say he needs to be a bit more clear.
Conflicting standpoints of a variety of development issues has some wondering just what Boris Johnson has in mind for the future of his city.
"He currently has advisers working away to identify what the character of London is, in order to inform future planning decisions.
The only problem is working out what these views add up to, as his individual pronouncements don't seem wholly consistent with each other.
He has declared himself a lover of London's traditional domestic architecture, and opposed to tall buildings in the wrong places, but he also went out of his way to support the "Three Sisters" proposal for Waterloo, a development of towers that has now been killed off in a public inquiry."
