"I was delighted by how easy it is to get around town - and it will soon be easier. Portland International Airport has built a new terminal and is refurbishing a second. Come September, the airport will open a new light-rail link with downtown Portland. In Pioneer Courthouse Square (dubbed "Portland's living room" because so many locals hang out there), a new visitors' information center has just opened. Also brand-new is the $40 million, 1Ç-mile Eastbank Promenade for pedestrians and bicylists on the east shore of the Willamette (which, alas, wasn't yet open when I visited)," write editorialist David Armstrong.
