"Business groups, technology firms, developers and some commuters are working to revive a canceled study into the feasibility of building another Potomac River crossing west of the American Legion Bridge...Supporters say a second crossing is needed to better link the two rapidly growing suburbs, something envisioned in the region's long-term transportation plans since the 1950s. Opponents say a new road would lead to more traffic and suburban sprawl."
