Richard Moe, President of The National Trust for Historic Preservation, has long advocated a smarter growth paradigm. In fact, his vocal leadership may be the reason why preservationists have evolved from "little old ladies in tennis shows" to savvy entreprenuers, environmentalists and developers who believe that preservation is simply one componenet of a plan to build better communities.
