The city of San Antonio is working with business leaders to contribute to the new Haven for Hope, a center for assisting more than 1,000 homeless residents. Both construction and long-term operation funds come from a public-private partnership, with lots of in-kind donations needed to make it work. But area leaders expect many who use the Haven will emerge as employees at local companies and more meaningful contributors to the city's tax base.
