A Swedish startup is developing a kite-like turbine to capture the power of ocean waves to generate electricity.
The kites are smaller than many other tidal power designs and so could prove to be more affordable to launch. One kite is projected to produce 500 kilowatts of power
Andrew Price writes, "To put that into perspective, the average American home uses about 11,040 kilowatt-hours each year. So one of these kites, working for an hour, could supply about two weeks worth of power for the Average home."
