A Fresno, CA architect has designed and built a number of tiny buildings made out of recycled materials as homes for the homeless, but has yet to find a site that will take them.
Some of the homes are as little as 80 square feet. The city is working with the architect (Arthur Dyson), and has brought members of the homeless population of Fresno into the planning process.
Dyson says in the Fresno Bee that he "envisioned an "eco-village" that would include housing units set up in a field surrounded by trees and gardens, a central building with a kitchen and bathrooms and another larger building for the sale of goods created or grown by residents."
