Richard Florida and his team have ranked the Best Places for Recent College Grads using nine different indicators, including the number of singles, unemployment rate, rental housing stock, and of course, creative capital.
Ithaca, New York tops the list: "Underemployed college graduates have been able to create a massive network of social service agencies, making it a great place to find footing as a recent grad."
Florida writes that 'place' is now central to your success in the job market:
"Now more than ever, it's really important to put serious thought into where you want to live. The place you choose to live in key to your economic future. Jobs no longer last forever. In fact, the average twenty-something switches jobs every year. Places can provide the vibrant, thick labor market that can get you that next job, and the one after that and be your hedge against layoffs during this economic downturn."
