Conflict Kitchen is a new restaurant in Pittsburgh that serves food from countries that are in conflict with the United States.
Paige Magarrey writes, "John Peña, Jon Rubin and Dawn Weleski, the trio behind this project, will rotate countries and cuisines every four months, organizing events, performances and even Skype chats about the cultures, politics and issues surrounding the countries in question."
The first iteration of the restaurant is serves Iranian kubideh. The facade of the restaurant is designed as a sort of pull-down canvas that can be redesigned cheaply and easily for each version of the restaurant.
