State Sen. Jim Sebesta said he hopes his "outside the box" plan for a high-speed rail terminal straddling Interstate 275 in Tampa generates ideas, even if it's never built.
State Senator Jim Sebesta, backed by an architect's rendering of steel-and-glass skyscraper towers over Interstate 275 at Ashley Drive, unveiled a plan for a high-speed rail station to replace Amtrak's Union Station, deemed too small for the high-speed rail system which will link Florida's five major cities. Sebesta said he hopes private developers will offer to build and operate the state's high-speed rail system. Otherwise, taxpayers may have to foot the bill.
