In an interview with the Guardian, Mayor Boris Johnson touted new plans for bicycle superhighways stretching throughout London.
The mayor said that he is determined to bring about "a cycling revolution." The plan is to build 12 cycling "superhighways" criss-crossing the city in time for the 2012 Olympics, but officials at Transport of London admit that the lanes will break up frequently along the route.
"Transport for London told the BBC space constraints made it impossible to build cycle lanes the length of the routes."
