Also interviewed is a D.C. councilman who describes what's smart about the meters (they can be programed for different prices), but he quips, "Messing with parking is one of the most difficult things to do". He might check out how Sausalito deals with this issue. However, the biggest problem encountered to date in D.C. with the smart meters is decidedly low-tech.
