The Double O's Were the Hottest Years on Record

A National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Report published on Wednesday found that the last decade has been the hottest on record, and clearly points to the conclusion that our planet is warming.

The report was produced by more than 300 scientist in 48 countries, using ten separate planet-wide features as barometers. "The findings do not include data from 2010, which is on pace to exceed the highest annual average global temperature ever recorded, NOAA said." This year has already seen extreme heat events in the eastern United States, Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

"According to the report, each decade since the 1980s has been progressively warmer than the last, with an average warming of about one-fifth of a degree Fahrenheit per decade."
