Inception portrays a new architect, the young Ariadne, whose modernist sensibilities drive her to recreate downtown Los Angeles and a "filmic hybrid of New York and Brasilia," like a female LeCorbusier with Intel-powered CGI at her disposal.

Ultimately, the main character and his wife live in "a skyscraper city not because they believably want to, but because it was the most visually arresting landscape for the CGI artists to render as a ruin later in the film," writes James Benedict Brown.
