In Golden, CO, priceless dinosaur footprints may be threatened by plans for a new golf course.
"To some scientists, including Mr. Caneer, the footprints are priceless, dating from a time perhaps 60 million years ago when dinosaurs were dying out.So it galls him that plans for the golf course are proceeding without efforts to preserve all the footprints...City officials say they intend to preserve three sites...but the two other sites...will be buried 'as a way to preserve them,' said Vince Auriemma, the city's deputy director of public works. And that makes Mr. Caneer sizzle."
