Berwyn, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, is running an aggressive marketing campaign to convince the gay community that their small city is a friendly and affordable place for them to live.

Marge Paul is Berwyn's 3rd Ward alderman and the city's first openly gay elected official. But she's not the only one behind the push- everyone from the Mayor on down is on board.

Reporter Rex Huppke writes, "The broader, $70,000-a-year campaign - titled "Why Berwyn?" - targets people of all walks of life and features billboards and radio advertisements across the Chicago area. But part of it is directed specifically at the LGBT community."
