New Film Documents a Living Detroit

The film is meant as a counterpoint to "pick-and-choose journalism" that casts Detroit as a city of death. The documentary is currently touring the country. (There was a screening in Los Angeles on Sept. 8.) Trailers for the film are available at the attached link.

"You can fit Manhattan, Boston, and San Francisco all within the city limits of Detroit, and it's lost over a million people in the last 30 or 40 years. So there is an emptiness--there is a physical emptiness. As a human being, you do have a sense of your own voice, you're own physical presence, and your own possibility."
