The farmers market trend has gotten so popular that West Coast chain Safeway tried setting up some stands of fruits and veggies outside their store with a sign saying "Farmers Market". Locals called them on it.
Seattle is no place to be faking local produce, as residents take food sourcing seriously. Albertsons stores are apparently also guilty, and a sting in Los Angeles found fruits and veggies being sold under false pretenses of being locally grown.
