Officials in London are relying on the creation of 86 new public spaces throughout the city to cut down on criminal behavior.
"Twenty projects are already completed - including Oxford Circus, Camden High Street and Windrush Square in Brixton - at a cost of £43 million.
Mr Moylan told the Standard: 'It's not an extravagant programme but it will help people feel proud of their area.'"
London Mayor Boris Johnson has touted the plan, and argues that the creation of these public spaces will take small but necessary steps towards thinking about neighborhoods in a more civilized manner.
