Santa Ana school officials needed additional land for a school. So the city gave it to them in exchange for use of the facilities.

In addition to the Santa Ana cooperative effort, Irvine and its school district, and Ladera Ranch Community Assn. and Capistrano USD have also shared land and facilities. With these cooperative efforts, both students and communities win.
