Residents of the Los Angeles Valley paid millions for transit and got nothing.
"Lack of mass transit in the San Fernando Valley isn't remotely the fault of residents... The busway will move people from the West Valley to downtown and points between. The roadway, stretching from Warner Center east to North Hollywood, will be off limits to cars and traveled only by express buses, "one every 12 minutes, at no greater than 35 miles per hour," says L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky. The plan is to get commuters to switch to mass transit and unload the Ventura Freeway."
