Colosseo went to the Planning Commission on Thursday to try to get permission for Luca to have amplified accompaniment.

But the Telegraph Hill Dwellers can be a force to be reckoned with. According to the SF Chronicle:

"The group has successfully stalled a number of projects in San Francisco, including a plan to build a 430-foot condo tower near the Transamerica Pyramid and the redevelopment of the Pagoda Palace Theater, vacant since 1994."

In the case of the serenading waiter, the Dwellers are suggesting that allowing the amplification could set a bad precedent, and before they know it, it could become a club.
