Proponents of light-rail have begun regrouping to respond to Tuesday's defeat of a sales tax that would have funded light rail in Kansas City. Amoug the ideas being considered: eliminating a light rail route through the Northland, the creation of a special transit district that would only cover portions of Kansas City or a regional, Kansas-Missouri approach to a light-rail system. However, some proponents think light-rail is dead for the near future.
