"Such was the humble beginning just eight months ago of what is now being called the biggest Downtown real estate coup of the past decade. "'This deal is very very huge,' Jack Kyser, chief economist for the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, said about the $300 million, 20-year lease of 1 million square feet of new gift mart space Downtown which was announced August 3. 'I don't think people quite grasp the implications.'"
