For years, some properties, towns, and even regions may sit unnoticed. Then, one dayboomthey are discovered and they suddenly become desirable, sought after, in high demand. The discoverer may be a developer looking for the newest best place or a writer publicizing an off-the-beaten-path destination. Or the real estate may have just come of age, as is the case with the mountain town of Whitefish, located in the top northwest part of Montana, near the borders of Idaho and Canada.
