A number of developers, generally those long experienced in the retail sector, are rolling out urban-village projects across the nation. But the concept, mimicking the downtown neighborhoods that evolved naturally in many northern cities, has proved difficult to bring to fruition in Texas.Contributing to this is that mixed-use projects take longer and cost much more than standard retail developments."
