A team of Italian architects have proposed a honeycomb-like design for a viaduct that would include built-in wind turbines.
Like the power plant plus ski slope posted yesterday on Planetizen, the viaduct plus wind power shows that renewable energy is being incorporated by architects today in every possible permutation.
This design is for a viaduct near Calabria, Italy:
"It would cost about $55 million to demolish the viaducts, so town officials held a contest for proposals that would re-use them in an environmentally friendly way. The wind turbine bridge took second place."
