Green Buildings in Demand

A new poll of real estate experts reveals that businesses seeking office space are increasingly seeking buildings built with sustainability in mind.

The survey was conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers for the Urban Land Institute as part of their Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2011 report.

The Guardian U.K. looked at the results:

"The respondents noted that although green buildings do not necessarily attract higher rents, sustainable buildings lease well in a weak market. The report also cites emerging evidence that tenants are willing to pay more for some green characteristics."
