The city of Denver kicked off its second season of bike-sharing today. Last season, the program reached 102,981 rides in seven months.
According to Jordan Steffen of The Denver Post those 102,981 rides totaled 211,111 miles. Also, Steffen writes, "more than 20 percent of members combined their trips with light rail or bus commutes."
Currently, Denver B-Cycle (as the program is called) offers a fleet of 500 bicycles available at 50 stations throughout the city. All bikes in the system were recently updated with new handlebar grips and kickstands.
