Once populated by empty storefronts, the fear of crime, and unkempt facades, the Central Avenue commercial district has quickly turned itself around. With a block party, a new logo, and lamppost banners, the local business celebrate how "the feel is completely different." Several funding opportunities and progressive programs helped rejuvenate facades, parking, and even alleys.
