Mobile Markets Bring Groceries to Food Deserts

Mogro is a new for-profit company in New Mexico that is targeting neighborhoods with little access to healthy food with temperature-controlled grocery trucks.

Mogro soft-launched in April at Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico, and says it was pleased with the results.

Peter Smith at GOOD writes:

"Shopping there is sort of like walking through an outdoor grocery store, albeit one with only two aisles and no chips, soda, or candy bars."

Mogro's mission statement says their goal is:

"To efficiently deliver affordable, safe, healthy foods, raised in a sustainable way to to communities that currently lack access due to physical location and cost."
