A Yale University survey yielded a surprising result: climate change policy is becoming less polarizing among Americans of different political affiliations.
Angie Schmitt reports that more than 70% of respondents in the 2008 poll agreed that climate change is a pressing issue that deserves attention from Congress.
Of that number, 74% and 80% of Republican respondents expressed support for bike lanes and the overall expansion of public transit, respectively.
"While Americans were generally supportive of climate change policy fixes, their commitment did not go as far when their wallets entered the equation," Schmitt observes.
