Cab's Eye View of L.A.

When other musicians opt to romanticize L.A. with images of Hollywood and Malibu mansions, pop band Death Cab for Cutie captures the opposite in the music video for their new single, "Home Is A Fire."

The video represents a collaborative effort of the band and famed graphic artist Shepard Fairey, who is credited for the ubiquitous Barack Obama "HOPE" poster during the 2008 elections:

"This video is about illustrating these ideas and the multiple dimensions of the city experience by taking the viewer on a journey to encounter the Home Is A Fire lyrics as street art. Street art appeals because it makes the landscape a little less dreary for the viewer, and it is a bureaucracy free creative outlet for the participants," explains Fairey in a Sustainable Cities Collective's blog.
