"Forty-nine acres stretching from a eucalyptus-lined hilltop to an ocean bluff just north of Half Moon Bay may soon be public property, as San Mateo County negotiates to buy a piece of the coast that a group of local lawyers has fought to develop for a decade... San Mateo County plans to buy Mirada Surf from members of the Burlingame law firm McCracken, Byers & Haesloop, acquiring a rare piece of private property on the coastline and turning it over to the public for recreational use."
