Chicago's zoning chief is out of a job after a scandal over a code governing businesses bordering Wrigley Field.
"Rumors swirled that veteran Zoning Administrator Paul Woznicki was fired, but Daley administration officials insisted that he resigned voluntarily after realizing he made a mistake by helping an alderman draft an amendment to the zoning code governing Wrigley rooftops. The measure, introduced at a City Council meeting last week, was sponsored by Ald. Bernard Hansen (44th), whose ward includes the area around the ballpark. The change would allow property owners to make certain alterations--without city approval--to the buildings with rooftop businesses."
