The Center for a New American Dream offers nine actions individuals can take to benefit the environment.
"Brown explained that the nine actions, which include declaring your independence from junk mail and replacing four light bulbs with energy-efficient ones, were selected so that people could really see the positive impacts they can collectively have on the environment. Turn the Tide was launched in July on the heels of a poll of Californians conducted by the Center that Brown said reveals how willing people are to conserve resources when given the right information and tools."
