The City Council of Beverly Hills has been outspoken against the MTA's plans to run a subway under the city. This Thursday, they're considering pulling together $350 thousand to fund their opposition.
Daniel Antolin of Canyon News reports that the $350k would be earmarked for "legal services, public relations and consulting firms, in addition to experts in the fields of tunneling and geotechnics."
The City Council is in step with the Beverly Hills School Board, who claim that the subway tunneling required to build Constellation will "endanger students and destroy the community.", as Joel Epstein notes.
Antolin reports that the City Council is moving as quickly as possible to secure these funds, and is looking for unspent money from last year to use.
