The transportation industry says that it will take a major hit until consumers regain confidence in air travel.

Talk to analysts in the transportation field, and they say that while the nation's air system will get back to normal and people will again regain confidence in air travel, it will take a hit as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In addition, those analysts say that modes of transportation like rail and ships will gain favor as heightened security hobbles one of the America's grandest achievements -- its commercial airline network.
