Leading up to the 2012 Olympics, a group in London is taking advantage of stalled building projects to create 2,012 public gardens in the city before the sporting event.
"Partially fuelled by hugely over-subscribed allotment spaces across the UK, the initiative is bringing more gardening sites to frustrated would-be gardeners seeking a space to nurture budding green-fingers."
Gardens at more than 1,200 sites have been chosen and at least partially created so far.
