Durham-Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Titusvilla, Florida are metropolitan areas that grew faster than the national average in 2010, reports Ben Casselman for The Wall Street Journal.
Indiana was another beneficiary from the manufacturing sector.
"Elkhart, Indiana, for example, was the nation's third-fastest-growing metro area in 2010, a year after it experienced the country's biggest contraction. (Its GDP remains 4.3% below its 2008 level, however.)"
Though some cities have experienced a resurgence, the slow global growth could hinder the cities' rebound.
