"Larry Silverstein has 'brought on board' prestigious architects David Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Alexander Cooper of Cooper Robertson Architects to help him plan the rebuilding of the World Trade Center... Cooper co-wrote the master plan for Battery Park City, the mixed-use waterfront community that includes the Financial Center. Childs' recent works include the AOL Time Warner Center, the 2.7 million-square-foot mixed-use complex under construction on the former New York Coliseum site at Columbus Circle, and Bear Stearns & Co.'s new midtown headquarters, nearly completed. Silverstein also indicated that there would also be a 'world competition among world-class architects' as part of the redesign process."
