"The National Association of Realtors has released a white paper that forecasts an economic downturn that will likely last through the next two quarters, and 'have enormous implications for the nation?s real estate markets.' The report, Attack on America, Economic Consequences for the U.S. Real Estate Markets, confirms what most economists have already noted; that the recent terrorism was the proverbial straw that broke an already wobbly camel?s back, and that a recession is likely. However, the report also emphasizes that recovery should begin by the end of the first quarter of 2002."
