To be fair, opponents have one partly valid complaint: The same state that wants them to zone land for housing also requires them to maintain open space, safeguard environmentally sensitive sites and preserve agricultural land. Sometimes, there isn't enough land to go around... [However] pushing aside housing obligations just pushes them elsewhere, with predictable effects on prices, traffic and sprawl.""
