Five historic preservation groups have teamed up to aid in rebuilding historic structures in Lower Manhattan.

"Since lower Manhattan is the oldest part of the city, many historic buildings, including Trinity Church and Federal Hall, are near the Trade Center site. In addition, the area has 20th century skyscrapers of architectural note. In all, there are 67 designated city landmarks south of Chambers Street."
