"Metro Atlanta officials are studying the concept of turning high-occupancy vehicle lanes into so-called Lexus lanes, available for use by commuters who are willing to pay a fee to escape rush-hour congestion... The term 'Lexus lanes' reflects the perception that most of those buying access to HOV lanes would be affluent people driving high-priced cars. Experience has proved the label valid."
