"Most hospitals have long had cafeterias and gift shops, and many have pharmacies. Some have even added a fast-food restaurant or a cafe. But the latest crop of retail offerings is decidedly more elaborate. The trend is likely to continue as hospitals redesign their outdated facilities or build new ones... A case in point is the $100 million, 500,000-square-foot University Pointe project under construction in West Chester, Ohio."
