The Pacific Northwest comes out on top, with Seattle and Portland heading up the list of cities who meet the needs of those who, "frequent cool, often idiosyncratic restaurants, shops, and bars." Seattle topped the list due to their, "smarts, tech savvy, and high-octane coffee." Neighborhoods identified as ideal locations to spot retro frames, bountiful tattoos, and bushy facial hair include "the up-and-coming South Lake Union area, near downtown, or [the] former Scandinavian neighborhood Ballard."

Other cities making the cut include Philadelphia, Providence, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Surprising omissions include the big three -- New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago -- who likely have more collective hipsters than the entire population of Detroit (which, by the way, is no hipster slouch itself).
