Inspired by a recent post on the Seattle Department of Transportation's Blog,
Gutierrez has assembled a photo gallery of creative and unique bus stops from
around the world.

Our favorite has to be "Bus Home," a bus transfer station at the Pacific
View mall in Ventura, California designed by sculptor Dennis Oppenheim. According to Gutierrez, "With grant money for public arts, the city aimed for a design that would enliven the transit experience. 'This
is Southern California, where everyone is in their cars,' said Denise
Sindelar, the city's community partnerships manager. 'We're trying to get
people into public transit.'"

The station, which depicts the metamorphosis of a bus becoming a house, is also functional, "with three restrooms, bike racks and lockers, an information kiosk, lighting, and drinking fountains. It also provides ample shade."
