Florida To Spend $82.5 Million For New Amtrak Service

Florida will spend $82.5 million to start a new passenger service along its east coast freight railway line.

The plan includes construction of new stations at St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce and Stuart, as well as a new rail connection between the Florida East Coast line and the existing South Florida Rail corridor in Palm Beach County, currently used by both Amtrak and the Tri-Rail commuter line that serves passengers between West Palm Beach and Miami.
